Robert and I went to see Wayne Brady this past weekend and it was worth it. I wrote a review when his show first hit the Venetian showroom, but I had no idea he could get any better. We learned that he always wanted to be a singer, but since he was not making it as a singer he chose the path of improvisation since he had a talent for it. He used his improv talent to get him to the point in his life where he has just released his debut album called “A Long Time Coming.” He sang “Ordinary” which was written to celebrate the little things guys do to show a woman love in a relationship because it is the little things that make love real.
As for the show, it was entertaining. The fun part of the show is the audience is involved. He pulled up four people to be pieces of furniture which they got into their parts, so he had a hard time keeping his composure. He also had another audience member make sounds for him, but she could not make sounds which really showed off his improv talents. Just watching how they played off each other was like a magic show because we never knew which way they would spin the topics or comments.
Then when he hit the stage as Tina Turner with wig and gold dress it was all out laughter for all in the showroom. He was in heels and could almost outdance Tina, but she still has better looking legs. He even showed us his skills as a break dancer. It brought back the 80′s in full swing where I tried to spin on my head on cardboard. Good thing I didn’t break my neck back in the day.
Last, but not least Wayne belted out some classic tunes in celebration to his heroes. Then shared his own passion for music which is available on itunes. If you have not seen his show yet, then put it on your list when you are in Vegas.
