March 1st is our anniversary and we finally found our wedding song to put on our myspace play list. The first time I heard I knew it would be played at our wedding and that was even before Robert knew I was really, really, really interested in him. He was such a a wonderful friend. He had my heart with just four words, “I read your book.” That was it for me. We talked about my work and my passion for writng and all I could think about was how he took the time to read my 1st book What If. Just that one small moment in time and I looked at him as more than a friend, but instead as the man I wanted to be with the rest of my life (hence the song).
I think back now and it is funny to think I chased him. I asked him to go to Laughlin with me to a concert and it took all afternoon to ask him out which is ironic because we had been to one concert before, but it was different. I wanted him to go and all I could come up with was “How are you on spontaneous plans?” Very lame, but he drove and we sat in a bar an talked all night. The drive home was difficult with no sleep, but we made it back safe. We are headed back to that same bar next weekend and this time stay a couple of nights to remind us of how magical it was and still is for us.
Robert is posting our tattoo pics and I wanted to write before I forgot all I wanted to say. We are having a bit of Partida since that is our tequila of choice, which has such a sweet flavor that no lime is needed. As we reminisce about the past year and plan out our future we are blessed with one of the best relationships that I know of and we wish all you couples out there the same.
