Summer is here, but so much to be done. Because of my wonderful husband, this is the first summer I do not have to work. He has given me the opportunity to finish writing my novel “In the Eye of Prayer” which has a lot to do with my experiences as a child. I thought long and hard about putting those experiences in a book, but didn’t want it to seem like some B-type movie that was unrealistic.

I asked my mom’s permission to tell our story of alcoholism, abuse, escape, and court. I added a woman who has my grandmother’s name, Helen, who has visions which allows her to help this family through the use of her special gift and her prayers. I am 3/4 the way through the novel and my editor is ready to make it a best-seller. That is after my first best seller “Fat-Haters Club” hits the shelf. At least in my dreams it will be a best-seller LOL. It is being bound as we speak and will be ready for book stores by the end of the month. It has been a long process, but worth the time and effort to make it the best writing I have ever done.

Writing is very therapeutic for me which has allowed me to come to terms with my past and heal a lot of wounds. I wonder how people get through tough times. I guess that is why I am drawn to counseling. I like the process of healing and moving on with life. It is an empowering feeling and a lot of people stay stuck and just can’t move forward.

As life moves forward for us-we are excited to see what doors will open this summer. Wishing you all the momentum to move forward and live life since it is the only one you have.
