Neglecting more important matters of the law: Principle of Embarrassment prove Biblical truths

I don’t think they have gotten rid of religion in the public square, they have just changed the religion to new transgenderism, environmentalism(theologies) beliefs-punish those who disagree with them and make life very difficult for them.

Matt 23:23 neglecting more important matters of the law

Embarrassing testimony is evidence that Christianity is indeed true

Notes on Frank Turek (author of I Don’t Have Enough to be an Atheist)

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone”

 (Matthew 23:23)

Principle of embarrassment:

-if the author is telling an embarrassing story is true because people do not naturally tell stories that make you look bad.

-people lie to make themselves look good-usually hide what may make them look bad

Embarrassing Stories:

-Peter called satan by Jesus

-Peter‘s denial story

-All the disciples feared the Jews so when Jesus is arrested they all run away

-Who are the brave one’s in the story? The women stay at the feet of Jesus

-The women become credible witnesses?

-one woman was healed of demon possession

Climax-some doubted-no spin to the story-no bragging:

-Bible doesn’t leave out doubting stories even though they are embarrassing

“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed

for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted” (Matthew 28: 16-17).

Jesus commanded the Great Commission:

***note: the command is to make disciples-not make believers

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age, Amen” (Matthew 26: 18-20).

Jesus’ family doubters not left out of storyline:

-Jesus unbelieving family could have been embarrassing to Jesus but He showed no shame

“For even His brothers did not believe Him” (John 7:5).

Jesus family tree could be seen as embarrassing:

-2 prostitutes: Rahab and Tamar in Jesus bloodline

-Shady people like Judah who sold his brother into slavery and slept with his daughter-in-law who was pretending to be a prostitute

-David was a liar, adulterer, and murderer

-Jesus didn’t put skeletons in the closet of his family tree

-no room for lies in the Bible

****no one will die for a lie they know is a lie

Politics:

-the reason politics is important is because politics affects your ability to preach and live the Gospel

-go to other countries because politically they have ruled out the ability to preach the gospel

argument:

no politician is your savior, a politician can’t save you

answer:

- agreed-but your spouse can’t either but it is still important that you pick the right one

Points:

-Christianity is not just fire insurance

-the purpose of government is to protect innocent people from evil

Jesus was not love, hearts, and rainbows:

-Jesus went after the pharisees who were religious and political leaders and lawmakers

-Jesus went after the Sanhedrin who were the Jewish ruling class that sent Jesus to the cross

-Rome gave the Sanhedrin the authority as political leaders of Israel

-inverting the law

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone”

****neglecting more important matters of the law****

-government tells us what lightbulbs we can use in our homes, but promotes killing of babies in the womb

-ban plastic straws but not ban child mutilation

-shut people down for preaching the gospel by putting them in jail, but real criminals are set free

Objection: sit election out because I don’t like any of the candidates

Answer:

-follow the important matters of the law

-follow Jesus-policies in an election do matter

-implement more important matters of the law

-when you vote= implement platform and policies

-ask which administration protect life border religious freedom,

-ask to stop DEI hires

-demand protection of innocent people from evil

-no perfect candidate but if they try hide their record because it is embarrassing and then lie about what they did then do not put your vote behind such a candidate

-Watch platforms and if one is inverting the law then do not put your vote behind such a candidate

-elect government candidates that will follow the Father’s will and your will and not neglect the more important matters of the law

Ex.

Library drag queen story hour:

Program that promotes inclusivity and the importance of children’s literacy

Graphic Novels (pornography disguised as inclusive literature)

***children’s access to books depicting all types of sex

-the world argues and describes events and books in a human rights context

-allegation of books that were in conflict of the penal code (waived of profanity and perversion laws)

-We should remove books that contain descriptions of sex and sexual storylines

-Includes detailed descriptions of sex-including graphic novels

“Pornography” in school libraries:

-If you can’t justify giving a 13 year old a Hustler magazine then it should be a felony charge if providing pornography to minors (schools and libraries should be included)

-change the rules distributing harmful material to minors should be address by citing sections of books in which sexual acts are explicitly described

***Passages that are descriptive of sex, rape, incest, etc…sexual grooming

Ex. Gone by Kathleen Jeffrie Johnson depicts an inappropriate sexual relationship between a 17 year old and his teacher.

ASK: What scientific, educational, governmental, or other justifications for these books
